Landing on karmyq.com
If you arrive at the app itself rather than the public site, the front door offers the same three
choices in one row: Get started (register), Log in, and See how it works — which opens
the same read-only /demo tour described below. The Karmyq wordmark at the top of the login and
registration pages always takes you back to that front door.
Three ways in from karmyq.org
The public site offers three distinct doors — pick the one that matches how ready you are:
- Explore the live demo → opens
karmyq.com/demo, a read-only 30-minute guided tour as Maria, a synthetic neighbour. No account, and nothing you do changes real data. Best for a first look. - Join the Platform → ordinary registration at
karmyq.com/register. This is the normal way to create your own account and start helping. It is not the Founding Circle. - Join the Founding Circle → the separate
/joininvitation path for people who want to help shape the platform before communities depend on it. It does not create a platform account.
1. Create Your Account
Go to karmyq.com and click Register.
You'll need:
- An email address
- A display name (this is how people will know you)
- A password
No phone number, credit card, or social login required.
2. Find Your Community
After registering, head to Communities in the nav.
Browse nearby communities — look for a group in your area or one that matches your interests.
Accept an invite — if someone invited you, click their link to join directly.
Start your own — click Create Community to set up a group for your street, building, or circle of friends.
3. Navigate the App
After logging in, you'll see three tabs at the top (or bottom on mobile):
- Browse — See requests from your community that you can help with
- Helping — Track everything you've agreed to do (and everything you're waiting on)
- Asks — Manage the help you've asked for and incoming offers
Use the community selector at the top to filter by a specific community, or leave it as "All" to see everything.
Some communities ask new members to wait a bit before posting big requests — it's just a way to build trust first. In the meantime, look for easy ways to help on the Browse tab.
4. Do Something
The best first move is to help someone.
Find a request you can fulfil and offer to help. It takes about 30 seconds to respond. Once you follow through, you'll earn karma and start building a real connection with that person.
Or if you need something, post a request. Tap the ＋ Ask for help button (a docked bar above the tabs on mobile, or the labelled button at the bottom right on desktop) — it opens Get Help (for community requests) and Get Service (to hire a provider). Pick your request type, describe what you need, and post. It takes about 30 seconds.
The Five-Minute Demo Path
Want to see the whole loop quickly? Walk it end to end:
- Log in or register — sign in, or create an account in under a minute (just email, name,
password). Evaluators can sign in as the prepared tester
maria.reyes@test.karmyq.com/password123to skip straight to a rich, populated account. - Join or create a community — from Communities, join one near you, or click Create Community to start your own.
- Open Dashboard Home — your feed loads with the open asks you can fill, decisions you owe on top. (It won't claim you have no communities while it's still loading.)
- Create an ask — tap + → Get Help, describe what you need, and post.
- Browse and respond — offer to help on an open request, then click Show more open requests to widen the feed; the bottom tells you clearly when you've seen everything.
- Open a community page — visit a community to see its weekly pulse, People, and how you're connected.
